Hair care focuses on mature market
Hair care is now a big part of the whole anti aging phenomenon.
Manufacturers are increasingly producing hair care products targeted at the needs of the mature woman.
Hair sprays with added moisture, hair serums, and finishing products that protect gray hair and colored hair, hair conditioners that add volume and hair restoration products that stimulate regrowth through natural ingredients. The hair care market is changing fast.
Recent large company moves into mature hair care include L’Oreal with a range which is claimed to revitalise capillary fibres and entrich mature hair.
Frederic Fekkai has also launched a wonderful line of hair restoration products tackling the problem of thinning hair for older women.
Other companies have included advanced hair regrowth ingredients as well as vitamins, essential oils and microsilicones to protect and nourish mature hair.
Nowadays too the market in hair restoration products has expanded with the aging baby boomer population. And it’s hair restoration for women in particular that is leading the way.
The emphasis is on natural treatment for hair loss with products based on high levels of vitamins and minerals essential for hair restoration and regrowth. Products like the best selling Provillus and others focus on hair restoration from within – through supplements.
Other topical products aim to stimulate the scalp to regrow hair – products like Rogaine with the key active ingredient Minoxidil – and there are many others on the market now.
Of course – it’s not surprising that these products are appearing everywhere – the value of the anti aging hair care and hair restoration market world wide is huge.
With an aging population – even in these credit crunched times – hair care products for women over 40 is a market that’s bound to get bigger.
Great news for most of us 40-50 somethings who know just how important hair care is for a younger look.
